To buy or not to buy balloon stands and frames?
Now this the question. When starting out with limited amount of cash buying stands, frames and equipment can get very expensive. And not only do you have to shell out the money to purchase the stands you need to pick up your items after the event which costs time, fuel and labor. While some stands and equipment are necessary to have, I’ve found most balloon decorating stands and frames can be made using inexpensive items at your local hardware store. I have posted videos below on how to make the most common frames you will be needing when starting your business.
Quick note: When constructing your stands, or frames you’ll need to purchase some basic tools to get the job done. Many of these items you may already have the others you can either borrow from a neighbor or buy them from the store.
Items you’ll need to construct your own stands and frames are “
- Drill bits
- PVC cutter
- Wood Screws
- Gorilla tape
- PVC glue (If making permanent)
- Knot lamps (Makes a great stand for columns)
- ½” PVC white or grey conduit
- ½” PVC connectors
- L brackets
- ¾” Plywood
- Stepping Stones (For outdoor arches)
- Plant props
- Glue Gun
- Glue sticks
- Plastic table cloth
Depending on what you plan on building you may or may not need everything on this list. It still may seem like a lot but trust me these stands and frames are so inexpensive to make you’ll be able to put that extra money where it needs to go most. Let’s get Started
